ITBF EGM held 8th January

| | 10th January 2025

An EGM was held for the purpose of a necessary increase in ITBF's membership fees. The fees have remained the same since 2017 (bar a minor rounding up/ rounding down of the Tier figures at the EGM on 5th Dec 2022) and which have not kept pace with the now exponential running costs.

The Chairman summarised the areas of significant development and large expansion in the roles and remit of ITBF, since 2017. The resulting factor being a vast increase in the administrative workload and proactivity that has enabled this level of development. She acknowledged with gratitude, the existing ITBF sponsors and highlighted that there is an ambitious plan to seek the required amount of additional sponsorship, sufficient to fund the current and future running costs of ITBF, supplementary to the members’ fees. She emphasised the importance and value of all ITBF member countries. ITBF continues to work tirelessly behind the scenes and on the global stage of the wider Thoroughbred industry, on behalf of its members.

Members voted overwhelmingly in favour of the increased fees, to aid the annual running costs of the federation. Of the current 27 ITBF members, 21 member countries were represented at the EGM, 19 of which possess a voting right, with 2 non-voting Associate members also attending. A 17 – 2 result (or 89.5%) in favour of the proposed increase, was carried.

Details of the implimented 2025 membership fees can be found on the Membership page.
