The event’s opening topic was THE ROLE OF WEATHERBYS – with guest speakers, Chairman Sir Johnny Weatherby, who gave a background history of the 250 years of service Weatherbys has provided to the Thoroughbred Industry, and Director of The General Stud Book and Company Secretary Simon Cooper thenenlightening attendees with the many and varied vital roles that Weatherbys carries out.

Next followed LATIN AMERICA – ECONOMIC CHALLENGES & BLOODSTOCK OPPORTUNITIES given by John Fulton, renowned global Bloodstock Consultant (including a Representative of the Breeders’ Cup in Latin America and Tattersalls in Latin America) and based in Argentina. Unfortunately, John was behest with technical problems following an untimely storm in Argentina, taking out the internet connection. Dr Grewar is the Research and Innovation Manager for South African Equine Health and Protocols and is based in the Western Cape and is a world recognised authority on African Horse Sickness.

ITBF Chairman Kirsten Rausing, gave thanks to such exceptional guest speakers and also to the ITBF’s new partners; Tattersalls (UK), Hokkaido Sale (Japan), New Zealand Bloodstock (NZ) and Fasig-Tipton (USA). Ms Rausing said “This has been an exceptional debut webinar for the ITBF to host and we are delighted that over 400 attendees, from across the world, have engaged with the International Thoroughbred Breeders’ Federation, which plays such a key role for our industry globally.
