All are independent Turf Clubs under the aegis of the body “Turf Authorities of India” (TAI). There is an annual Joint Meeting of TAI where Owners’, Trainers’ & Jockeys’ Associations are involved. NHBSI is invited as an Observer and can make suggestions and speak at the meeting. This is supported by the Turf Club Chairmen meeting regularly for decisions. There are 17,595 employees directly in racing and 3.3 million person-days for stud farms in 2021. 5800 acres are dedicated to stud farms in the 9 States of the Union.
